March 2018 Edition
Dear Ascend Members and Supporters,

Things are in full swing here at Ascend. We're gearing up for the second Ascend Pinnacle Summit that's only 3 weeks away and I wanted to make a special mention of the Advanced Leadership Program that we created in collaboration with Stanford University, this August will be our 10th class since inception and below you can find info on how to apply.

It also makes me so proud to see our Ascend Foundation research continue raise awareness of the need to improve upward management mobility for minority men and women. This month, the report was referenced in both HBR and USA Today. I really believe there's power in our unified voice and together we can make a difference.

Lastly, as I mentioned last month, the Convention registration is now live - you can register here!

Warmest Regards,

Ascend Foundation research in the news

We're pleased to announce that Ascend Foundation's most recent research report "The Illusion of Asian Success: Scant Progress for Minorities in Cracking the Glass Ceiling from 2007-2015" continues to raise much needed awareness of the need to improve upward management mobility for minority men and women. The research was referenced in both the Harvard Business Review and USA Today this month. We're hopeful that we will begin to see some real change.

Member of the Month: Selina Tan, West Coast Region Intern, Ascend

"Joining Ascend has been the most pivotal decision I’ve made during my college career. Upon joining, I’ve met countless individuals who have not only inspired me to excel but also supported me. Over the last year, I became more involved with Ascend, by becoming Ascend SFSU’s Vice President and also the Data & Memberships Intern for Ascend West Coast. Ascend has given me many opportunities to develop essential leadership skills. As someone who received an infinite amount of support from Ascend, I hope to provide the same opportunities that were presented to me, and inspire others to also grow professionally."
