June 2016 Edition

Dear Ascend Members and Supporters,
The countdown is on! We are now a little over 6 weeks away from the 2016 Ascend National Convention. This year’s theme is “Dare to Dream, Be Extraordinary, Ascend!” and I encourage all of us to dream a little bigger this year. I cannot wait to see you all at Disneyland! We had a great turnout at the Ascend NorCal Chapter 10th Anniversary Gala held May 19th (more details below) and as I mentioned last month, I am always very proud of our regional IAG Conferences around the country. I invite you to take a look below and read 3 more IAG success stories! In addition to our 2016 National Convention, please join me at the 7th Annual AscendNAAMBA Conference & Career Expo in New York City, September 9-10. More information on the conference below.

Below are some other key updates for June.

Warmest Regards,

Jeff Chin
President, Ascend

Rounding out the morning were their breakout session speakers – Rex Hausmann and Judy Le. Ascend North Texas joined forces with EY on April 21 for a very engaging late evening panel discussion "Inspiring Generation Go". The four panelists (Nick Mysore, Dipesh Patel, Juhee Williamson & Carolyn Mao) talked about the dynamics of managing the millennial workforce and the impact technology has had in shaping the modern workforce. The panel discussion was moderated by Dustin Ruffatto who is the Inclusiveness and Flexibility Leader at EY. The event was held on the 17th floor of EY's Victory Park office in Dallas against the back drop of the setting Texas sun. The event was attended by about 70 professionals from the Big 4 and other firms in DFW. The networking hour after the event provided an opportunity for the generations to mix and share their experiences at a personal level. A great time was had by all!
