February 2020 Newsletter
February 2020 Edition

Dear Ascend Members and Supporters,

I hope you had a wonderful and joyous February as many of our members celebrated the Lunar New Years with family and friends!

February has been a busy month for Ascend! I recently had a chance to meet with the enthusiastic leaders of our Ascend LA Metro and Orange County chapters. They are our host chapters for this year’s National Convention and kicked off 2020 by hosting for the first time an Inspiring Across Generations Conference. I look forward to the great ideas and networks LA Metro and Orange County will bring forth that will make our August gathering at Disney a great success. Thank you to our chapter presidents, LA Metro president Glen Hamakawa and OC co-presidents Khanh Tran and Steve Taw along with your boards.

Many of our professional chapters have published their 2020 events calendar and hosted New Year celebrations over the past two months. Student chapters have been very active with general interest meetings and professional development workshops. Get involved and mark your calendars with the 2020 dates for our chapter and signature national events!

Our Ascend Foundation continues to make an impact in the Pan-Asian community. We are excited to announce our newest event, Ascend A-list Awards! We invite you to join us on March 19th in New York as we proudly recognize the numerous achievements of Pan-Asian leaders for the contributions and impacts they have made in business and to the community. Proceeds from this black tie gala will go towards supporting our thought leadership agenda.

This weekend I’ll be with our North Texas chapter to welcome our new co-presidents, Swerte Apollo Brimon and Winston Lam at their 2020 Kick Off gathering at Goldman Sachs. Special thanks to Lana Tran, for her leadership as president and helping grow the chapter the past 5 years.

Warmest Regards,

Anna W. Mok
President, Ascend
