Over the past two decades, diversity initiatives have been increasingly embraced by hospitals and health systems. As the climate of national and global change increases, the case for diversity is even stronger. An inclusive environment that embraces diversity - starting at the top - has proven to be critical to a business' success. Diverse leadership teams provide a competitive advantage as they help reflect diversity in the community. Yet, even with a significant commitment, barriers to recruiting women and minority leaders still exist, and many organizations are slow to achieve the results, experiences and benefits that they hoped for. Witt/Kieffer recently partnered with the Asian Healthcare Leaders Association, the National Association of Health Services Executives, the Institute for Diversity in Health Management and the National Forum for Latino Healthcare Executives to conduct a survey to determine where diversity leadership stands today and identify best practices in recruiting, retaining and developing diversity leadership.

Witt/Kieffer consultants, along with AHCLA board members will present survey results, including personal experiences on how to successfully cultivate diversity at the highest levels.

Scheduled Panelists:

Elaina Genser, Vice Board Chair and Senior Vice President, Western Region Director/Central Region Co-Director for Witt/Kieffer, based in Emeryville, CA

Steve Yamada,Consultant for Witt/Kieffer, based in Emeryville, CA

Thinh H. Tran, M.D., Chief Medical and Quality Officer, Corporate Vice President with Baptist Health South Florida and AHCLA Board Member

David Elgarico, MHA,Chief Operating Officer, Rio Grande Regional Hospital and AHCLA Board Member

We hope you will join us on November 9th!
