Please join the Ascend Los Angeles Metro Chapter for our annual "Inspiring Across Generations" gala event. Join us on Saturday, July 12th, for inspirational thoughts from our keynote speaker, a discussion with a great executive panel, gala dinner, and networking opportunities. This year, in addition to our Women of Ascend panel, we will also showcase vignettes on the topics of "Career Choices" and "Office Politics" during our afternoon session and gala. We'll have Executives and Generation Y professionals provide their insights on these vignettes and share their personal experiences and career journeys.

Women of Ascend, (Sponsored by Deloitte, LLP):
We are pleased to offer a pre-IAG dinner session for women, by women, called the "Women of Ascend." The session will feature Pan-Asian female executives who will share their stories, discuss women's issues, and provide helpful perspectives.

Office Politics:
How do you deal with conflicts in a working relationship? What do you do if your coworker steals your idea and takes credit for the work you’ve done? What about a boss who plays favoritism in the workplace? These are examples of some of the office politics that are sometimes inevitable in a work environment. As Pan-Asians, learn how to work office politics to your advantage, how to bridge the gap on cultural differences in corporate America and manage your way up diplomatically without putting your career at risk and still earn respect from your peers, those whom you supervise, and those whom you report to in order to succeed in your role.

Career Choices:
Are you thinking about graduate school to further your career? Do you want to change careers and pursue something different? Do you see yourself working at the same place in the next 5 years? Are you a working mother juggling work/life balance? Whether you are a student entering the workforce or a working professional contemplating a change in career or working environment, there are options we should consider before making decisions and appropriate steps we should take to get to where we ultimately want to be.
