Leverage Your Network & Connections
Leaders can sum up the key to their success in one word: CONNECTIONS! It is often said: "Who you know is far more important than what you know.” So how does one best develop connections and build new networks? Some people insist the best way is networking at events filled with crowds of strangers. Others swear by developing connections through the bits and bytes in social media. Regardless of the method that best suits your personality, learning to leverage your network and connections and not just accumulating connections is key to driving exponential outcomes.

Leverage Your Personal Brand

What does your personal brand say about you? In today’s business world, successful leaders create and then leverage their personal brands to motivate their team, bring in business, and grow their companies. Jim Stengel, former Global Marketing Officer of P&G and author of Grow, says "Today’s most successful business leaders leverage brand ideals… the essential reason for being, the higher-order benefit [you] bring to the world”. Crafting a personal brand can be the leadership differentiator, and what differentiates you from the pack.
Leverage Diversity, Beyond Ethnicity

Sherlock Holmes had Dr. Watson, Michael Jordan had the ’95-96 Bulls, and Steve Jobs had a terrific team of talented and driven Apple employees. When building "dream teams”, successful leaders often look for individuals that bring a diversity of perspectives and experiences towards achieving a common goal. Achieving success in today’s world isn’t only about looking in the mirror. Diverse industry knowledge, diverse functional expertise, and diverse view points are catalysts that can drive a team towards extraordinary results. Developing a diverse team or network is a competitive advantage and can elevate your aptitude for overcoming obstacles and challenges.
