Why we are introducing the EIS
Ascend has current research showing that relatively few Pan-Asians have achieved executive level leadership roles, even in regions with significant Pan-Asian populations such as the San Francisco Bay Area or the New York Metropolitan Area. Despite visible evidence of Pan-Asian success generally in the U.S., they remain underrepresented in the upper management levels of corporate America.
Research points to specific reasons for the failure of Pan-Asians to reach top executive positions. EIS has been designed to address each of the these issues, including aversion to risk-taking, limited corporate social networking, insufficient communications skills and different cultural interactions.
EIS has been designed to provide participants with a leadership framework that empowers them to explore how to change their own attitudes about leadership and business value.

This program is :
• Designed to improve core competencies that are underdeveloped in many Pan-Asian professionals
• Developed and delivered by Pan-Asian executives who have successfully led large U.S. organizations within multinational corporations such as Cisco, HP, IBM, KPMG and others

Ascend’s mission is to be the premier national, non-profit professional organization dedicated to enabling its members, business partners and the community to leverage the leadership and global business potential of Pan-Asians.

What You can Expect From The EIS

For high potential Pan-Asians who are at the senior manager, director or vice president level (typically 10-15 years experience) who aspire to contribute to their organizations at the highest levels, the program will result in a clearer understanding of how ‘real’ management decisions are made and the specific behaviors, competencies and experiences required at the executive level.
EIS was created by the team responsible for the highly regarded Stanford University Graduate School of Business’ Advanced Leadership Program for Asian Executives

Benefits To Participants In The Program
• A thorough understanding of the "Myths of Asian Leadership,” and how these common Asian cultural barriers and expectations have limited Pan-Asians’ opportunities to reach the "C”-suite and other high levels of management
• Insight into the executive values, executive presence, and executive leadership skills demanded by large U.S. businesses and how to better prepare to be a vital part of the corporate culture
• Real-life examples from executive leaders as to how they personally and professionally succeeded in order to stimulate robust and thought-provoking discussions on executive leadership skills
