Washington Market Managing Partner

Chris Simmons is the Managing Partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ("PwC") for the Washington Metro Region, which includes PwC client-facing operations in Washington, DC; Northern Virginia (McLean); Baltimore (Maryland) and Richmond (Virginia).  Chris is also a member of the PwC US Board of Partners and Principals, which oversees the governance of the US Firm.  As a member of PwC's Board, Chris serves as Chair of the Partner Admission Committee, and is a member of the Management Evaluation and Compensation Committee.

Previously, Chris was a member of PwC's United States Leadership Team, the Human Capital Leadership Team, and served as Chief Diversity Officer.  Chris has held a variety of positions within PwC, beginning as a Senior Manager in 1992 in the Mergers and Acquisitions unit.  He led client transactions involving mergers, divestitures and acquisitions.  Chris has also managed all PwC (internal) mergers, strategic investment and acquisition activity for the US Firm, in his role as Partner-in-Charge, US Corporate Development from 2001 - 2004. Mr. Simmons earned his bachelor's degree and master's in business administration from Harvard University.

Among other activities, he is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the boards of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, The Economic Club of Washington, the United Way of the National Capital Area, the Wolf Trap Foundation, the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance & Accounting (ALPFA) and Sasha Bruce Youthwork.

Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP

Saguna Hitapot is a Recruiting Manager and Diversity Leader for Baker Tilly, a national accounting and consulting firm in the US.  With over 12 years of experience as a talent acquisition leader, she has recruited all levels from interns and entry-levels to executives and firm partners, within the public and private sectors of consulting, finance and accounting, legal, and technology industries.  Her areas of expertise include recruitment strategies, employment networking, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.  

Saguna has a MBA from George Washington University and a BA from the University of Virginia.  She is a Vice President of Internal Affairs for Ascend, board member for the UVa Club of Washington, and an athlete for the High Cloud Dream Team, a non-profit organization that benefits children and distressed women in international countries.

Meredith Kimbell is an executive advisor, strategy consultant and a leadership coach with a personal passion for improving leadership performance and energy at the same time.  She is the founder and President of Corporate Adventure® and has helped hundreds of leaders create outstanding performance, personally and in their organizations.  She consults nationally and internationally with start-ups, mid-tier and Fortune 500 companies to improve performance, profits and fulfillment.  She assists leaders and teams to define and consistently deliver their most important results, coaches leaders to implement their visions, improves communications across stakeholders, and leads mission critical meetings. She is a consultant, teacher, coach, facilitator, and source of inspiration to her clients. 

Meredith graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a BA degree from Beloit College.  She received her master’s in Psychology, with honors, from Western Michigan University and maintains an intensive schedule of post-graduate education every year.  She is a licensed psychologist (Vermont Master) and an award-winning graduate of the Executive Coaching Institute.  Meredith is also the co-author of Rebooting Leadership and periodic blogs, Leading with ... Energy to Spare® and Leadership Coaching Notes, which provide practical, prescriptive guidance for anyone in a leadership position. 



National Diversity Director

Lisa serves as a national director at PwC in the Office of Diversity focusing on minority retention and advancement.  She is based in Dallas and reports to PwC's Chief Diversity Officer. Lisa designs strategy, resources, training and tools to create a unique people experience, specifically tailored for the needs of diverse talent. She serves as the program director for many of PwC's national diversity  leadership development programs,  Prior to this role, Lisa served as the North Texas Market Diversity Leader for three years providing individualized coaching, mentoring and networking activities for staff.  She also facilitated their employee affinity groups.  Previously, she worked for 10 years in financial auditing for financial services clients along with six years in human capital roles. 

Lisa earned her BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She teaches Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics (LEAP) leadership training sessions for PwC.  She serves on the boards of the Texas Society of CPAs, Dallas Society of CPAs, Community Council of Greater Dallas board and her church.  She has been asked to serve on the new AICPA National Commission on Diversity being launched this fall.  She is a member of the AICPA, Ascend, NABA and ALPFA.  She resides in Plano, Texas with her husband and daughter.

Winson Heng is a Principal in Deloitte Consulting Federal Government Services Business Unit.  He has 25 years of experience in government.  He provides systems integration and business performance improvement consultative services to Federal government clients.  He specializes in technology project management, organization transformation, e-government, strategic planning, performance management, learning solutions, business process re-engineering, strategic sourcing, as well as program and financial management.

Winson was a frequent speaker and participant in conferences and workshops on e-government; Information and Communications Technology (ICT); and performance management – particularly in the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) region.  His community activities include serving on the Board of Directors of Samaritan Inns, an organization based in Washington DC that provides structured housing and recovery services in an environment of support and accountability that will give homeless and addicted men and women the opportunity to rebuild their lives.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Ascend Greater Washington Area Chapter.  Winson holds a B.Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an M.B.A. degree in Finance from Oklahoma City University.

Business Innovation Services LLC

Wes Hom was former IBM Vice President in the Systems and Technology Group with global responsibilities for overall execution of IBM's high-end server investments, strategies, sales and emerging markets initiatives. Today he is a consultant with Business Innovation Services, LLC. helping investors and companies develop global strategies, acquire next generation technologies and the development of new business models. He also advises on diversity and leadership development for domestic and emerging markets companies. 

Wes was recognized as one of the "2007 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” by the Asian American Business Development Center and received Organization Of Chinese Americans (OCA) 2008 Dynamic Achievers Award. He is also the co-founder of Corporate Executive Initiative and co-developer of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Asian Leadership Program. 

Wes is a graduate of NYU’s Stern School of Business with BS/CS and MBA degrees. He was a member of IBM’s Certified Client Director Profession through Advance Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Managing Member
Condor International Advisors LLC

The Honourable Samuel Tinsing Mok is the managing member of Condor International Advisors, LLC, a management consulting firm that specializes in representing American companies and international clients doing business in the American federal market.  Previously, he served as chief financial officer of the U.S. Department of Labour (DOL) from March 2002 to May 2007.  Mok was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in January 2002 after being nominated to the position by President George W. Bush in October 2001.  He previously served as CFO and comptroller of the U.S. Department of the Treasury after being appointed by former Treasury Secretary James Baker.  Mok was one of the highest-ranking Asian-Americans in the Bush administration, and is regarded as a leader of the Chinese-American community.  In 2006, Mok received the prestigious Donald L. Scantlebury Memorial Award for distinguished leadership in financial management improvement.  He is the recipient of Federal Computer Week's Federal 100 Award, and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Washington, D.C., Chapter Einhorn-Gary Award.  Mok received the 2005 AGA Distinguished National Leadership Award and the 2011 Robert W. King Memorial Award, AGA's highest honour.  

Mok is an Executive Board Member of the National Ascend Advisory Board.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Fordham University and a Master of Arts degree in accounting from the Catholic University of America.  He also graduated from the U.S. Foreign Service Institute and the U.S. Army Institute of Administration at Fort Benjamin Harrison.  Born in Shanghai, China, and raised in Hong Kong, Mok speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA).


Specialist Leader
Deloitte LLP

Charles Chiang is a specialist leader in the Deloitte Consulting’s Federal Information Management Practice.  His experiences include managing IT projects, leading business intelligence implementations, and providing client advisory services.  

Prior to joining Deloitte, Charles spent nine years at BearingPoint where he served financial services, telecom, and federal clients.  Charles is a graduate of University of Dayton’s MBA program. He has a BS degree and a MS degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.  



Lisa is a Director in KPMG LLP’s Mid-Atlantic Financial Risk Management practice in the Tyson’s Corner office. She has 15 years of experience in the financial services sector with exposure to a variety of products. She is part of KPMG’s CDO team that delivers attestation services for closing date, effective date and payment dates. Lisa has substantial experience leading and coordinating Advisory engagements. She has served as project manager with responsibility for planning, budgeting, execution and delivery of securitization upfront transaction services and post settlement transaction services. Some of her specific responsibilities include liaise with the CDO Collateral Managers, Issuers and Trustees to troubleshoot and tie out the Note Valuation Reports including the waterfall distribution, coverage tests, collateral quality tests and portfolio profile tests. Create new payment date models in excel that properly reflect the terms of the indenture and other transaction documents. Train new Associates and Senior Associates in Note Valuation Report procedures. Perform second reviews of all Associates and Senior Associate’s work. Lisa has tied out payment date models on a variety of CDO types including CLOs, CDOs of ABS, CDOs of RE, synthetics and credit default swaps. Lisa’s experience includes collateral verification, collateral analysis, payment verification, cash flow modeling and transaction management. Lisa has been a member of KPMG’s Asian Pacific Islander Network (APIN) for the past 4 years and is currently the Office co-Lead for APIN.


Sandy Hota is a Director with the Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) LLP in their Financial Instruments, Structured Products and Real Estate (FSR) practice in the Washington DC office. His areas of focus include valuation of complex financial instruments, other than temporary impairment (OTTI) recognition issues, process mapping, systems implementation for valuation & treasury processes and cash-flow forecasting for whole loan portfolios & structured securities. He has worked extensively with audit and non-audit clients in the financial services, insurance, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing sectors.

In addition to his client commitments, Sandy is actively involved in several diversity initiatives across the Washington Metro market. He is actively involved with the PwC's Asian Affinity Network (AAN) and was the co-chair for the Washington Metro market from 2008 to 2010. He was the Treasurer for the Greater Washington ASCEND Chapter and in December 2010 was elected as the President for the local chapter. As a leader of the Greater Washington C

hapter, he is involved in coordinating with the ASCEND National leadership, Board of directors at the local level and is responsible for overseeing different events at the chapter level. Sandy has been a formal and informal mentor to several Pan-Asian professionals in the Washington Metro market and constantly encourages his fellow professionals to get involved in the activities of the local chapter to enhance their leadership and networking skills.


Senior Manager

Wayne Fong is a Senior Manager at Deloitte.  He has over 10 years of experience providing strategy and operations analysis and consulting services for large IT programs for the Department of Defense.  

Wayne has an undergraduate degree from University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from George Washington University.  He served 13 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Navy Reserves after 20 years.  Wayne is Co-President of Deloitte’s Greater Washington Area Asian American Alliance Business Resource Group (GWA ABRG), Co-VP of External Affairs for the Ascend Greater Washington Chapter, and involved with the Mentoring Asian American Professionals (MAAP) of the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA).

Yogesh Gupta is a Partner in the Financial Instruments, Structured Products, Real Estate Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He has over 20 years of structured finance and financial advisory experience including valuations, cash flow modeling and analysis, investor reporting, and implementing systems solutions for underwriters, issuers, trustees, servicers and investors.  

Yogesh is a CPA and holds an MBA in Finance from George Mason University, a MS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, and a BE in Computer Science from the Delhi Institute of Technology. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Ascend Greater Washington Area Chapter and is one of the "Partner Champions" for the PwC's internal Asian Affinity Network (AAN).

Specialist Leader
Deloitte LLP
Paul Lee serves as a Specialist Leader at Deloitte Federal Technology Systems Integration Service Line.  He is an experienced project and program manager with over 14 years of experience in systems integration and software development.  Paul has worked on and managed dozens of successful software development projects in the telecommunications and financial services industries as well as federal government agencies.  He brings a wide range of experiences and skills from technical architecture to full software development lifecycle management.  Paul earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. 

Specialist Leader
Deloitte LLP

Denise Lew is a Specialist Leader in Deloitte’s Federal Healthcare Practice. She is a Board-certified healthcare executive 26 years of prior active duty Air Force experience in the health administration career field.  She is responsible for identifying, qualifying and capturing business opportunities that provide significant value to the firm’s Department of Defense military health clients, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and a myriad of industry healthcare partners.  She works with the firm’s military medical account executives, provides insight on complex tri-service environments, and advises on healthcare corporate and facility organizational structure, enterprise strategy and operations, personnel policies, and talent management.

Diversity Director

Cherrie Mallory McCoy is a Director in the PwC Office of Diversity where she is responsible for supporting the advancement and retention of diverse professional in the Washington Metro market.  She has successfully incorporated diversity strategies and practices into business with clients, staff, suppliers, and local communities. Cherrie leads programs and initiatives for the Women’s Networking Circle, the Asian Affinity Network, the Hispanic Affinity Network, the Black Affinity Network, and the GLBT OPEN Circle.  Cherrie was a founding member of the Federal Diversity Office for a Fortune 100 company and has implemented strategic initiatives needed to foster inclusive environments for PwC, commercial and government clients.

Cherrie has a Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Howard University and over 20 years of experience in program management, talent management and information technology management.  She is experienced in managing large scale implementations and has directed management and technical activities for all phases of the system life cycle; from inception to system deployment.  As a key leader in the Aerospace and Defense Center of Excellence, she supports Aerospace and Defense clients throughout the United States.  Cherrie is a recipient of the Career Communications Technology Award and also recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Science and Engineering. 

Senior Partner

As a Senior Partner with PwC’s U.S. Public Sector Practice, Rollie guides firm-wide strategy and growth for U.S.-based bilateral donor agencies, most notably the United States Agency for International development (USAID).  Rollie believes, "the key to being an admired and respected firm is to consistently make the conscious choice to do the right thing for our clients and our people".  As a 20-year industry veteran, Rollie leverages his public sector industry experience in strategy and transformation to improve the operations of some of the most complex entities in the world, including the Department of Defense, The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the Department of State, the Department of Commerce, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 

Senior Manager
Ernst & Young LLP

Nick Son is a senior manager in the Information Technology Risk and Assurance practice for the East Central region. He leads the information technology audits and security consulting services of large federal agencies and commercial clients. Son has 18 years of information technology audit and security experience with industry depth in government. His government experience is complemented by technology expertise in cloud computing, 3rd party service provider oversight, security management and continues control monitoring.

Senior Tax Manager

Sharon Yip is a Senior Tax Manager with Ellucian Inc., a software and IT consulting company specialized in serving the higher education community globally.  Sharon is a CPA, and a member of AICPA and Virginia Society of CPA.  She received her MBA degree from Andrews University, and her MS in Accounting – Tax Consulting degree from University of Virginia. Sharon has been an active member of Ascend since 2006.  She was the Ascend Greater Washington Chapter Communication Committee Chair, and later became the Chapter’s VP External Affairs in 2009. 

Deloitte LLP

Vineet is a Director in Deloitte’s federal consulting technology practice with over 12 years of consulting experience in various Public Services clients and is currently acting as a Program Manager leading the delivery of an enterprise initiative for a large Department of Defense client.   Vineet is the Enterprise Content Management capability leader for the Information Management service line as well as the PPD sponsor for the Adobe|Deloitte Alliance within Deloitte's Federal Practice.  His experience includes providing solutions in areas such as IT Governance, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, Enterprise Portals, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, along with development and deployment of custom software solutions to numerous Public Services clients. Vineet is also PPD sponsor for our Adobe Alliance in federal.  Vineet attended the State University of New York at Buffalo where he received a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering. He currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife Anchal, daughter Sanah and son Kanav.

State Farm Insurance

A central California native, Lisa Crouch began her career with State Farm in 1998 as an Auto Underwriter and received her Certificate of General Insurance in July 2001. With the desire to become an entrepreneur, Lisa opened her State Farm Agency in 2003 in Torrance, California.  By July 2006, Lisa was asked to join the State Farm Agency Leadership team to coach and develop other State Farm agents as an Agency Field Consultant in greater Los Angeles.  Last May, Lisa and her husband, Jonathan, relocated to Northern Virginia for her current Agency Field Executive (AFE) role in Fairfax, Virginia.  Lisa regularly volunteered for non-profit organizations such as LA NHS (Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services), Habitat for Humanity, SafetyBeltSafeUSA, CAUSE (Center for Asian Americans United for Self Empowerment), the Asian Business Association of Los Angeles, and Junior Achievement, to name a few.  Lisa holds BA degrees in both English and Theatre Arts from California State University, Bakersfield, and is a CTM (Competent Toastmaster).

Parking: Enter the garage using the entrance off Galleria Drive (the courtyard entrance outside the main lobby to 1800 Tysons Boulevard). The kiosk attendant can direct you to Visitor parking, which is located on the ramps leading down from P3 and on P1. When you enter the parking garage off the courtyard entrance, you will make a left then make another left down that first ramp. Please bring your parkingticket in with you for validation. 

Lobby Sign-in: There will be volunteer greeters in the lobby. Visitors to 1800 Tysons will have to check in at the lobby level before proceeding up to the 9th floor. Please have your ID ready for check-in. 

Driving Directions:
From the North –
Take I-95 or Baltimore – Washington Parkway south to 495 (Capital Beltway) west toward College Park / Silver Spring. Continue west on 495 and it will curve south to Virginia. Cross the American Legion Bridge and take the Route 123 exit (Chain Bridge Road) toward Tyson’s Corner/Vienna (west). From the exit ramp, continue in the right lane to turn right onto Tysons Boulevard, turn left onto Galleria Drive, pass the PwC signage and then right onto the motor court that accesses our Galleria Drive parking garage. 

From the South –
Take I-95 north to 495 (Capital Beltway) North. Go past route 66 and take the route 123 exit (Chain Bridge Road) toward Tyson’s Corner/Vienna (west). Turn right onto Tysons Boulevard, turn left ontoGalleria Drive, pass the PwC signage and then right onto the motor court that accesses our Galleria Drive parking garage.

From National Airport –
Take George Washington Parkway northwest toward McLean. Continue on the parkway until it ends and meets 495 (Capital Beltway) south. Follow 495 south and take route 123 exit (Chain Bridge Road) toward Tyson’s Corner / Vienna (west). From the exit ramp, continue in the right lane to turn right onto Tysons Boulevard, turn left onto Galleria Drive, pass the PwC signage and then right onto the motor court that accesses our Galleria Drive parking garage. 

From Dulles Airport –
Take the Dulles Access Road to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) exit toward Tyson’s Corner/Vienna (east). Turn right onto Tysons Boulevard, turn left onto Galleria Drive, pass the PwC signage and then right onto the motor court that accesses our Galleria Drive parking garage.
