November Edition
Dear Ascend Members and Supporters,

Thank you again for attending the 6th Annual AscendNAAMBA Conference in conjunction with the Ascend Greater Washington Chapter's Inspiring Across Generations (IAG) Conference in Washington, D.C. in November 13-14, 2015. What a great event and wonderful turnout! Developing MBAs, students and professionals is a critical part of Ascend's mission as a lifecycle organization and students are key in building future Pan-Asian leaders.

As you do your year-end giving, please keep the Ascend Foundation in mind. For those EY professionals who are eligible, the EY Foundation will match individual gifts to the Ascend Foundation. Please click here for instructions.

The holiday season is almost upon us and I want to wish each and every one of you and your families happy holidays.

Warmest Regards,

Jeff Chin
President, Ascend

Ascend Inspirational Leader: Buck Gee

We are delighted to announce that Buck Gee, Ascend Executive Advisor, has been honored with the OCA (Asian Pacific American Advocates) Executive Excellence Award. Buck has been a long-time supporter of Ascend - he is a Member of the Board of Ascend Northern California and a co-author of the Ascend Foundation report “Hidden in Plain Sight: Asian American Leaders in Silicon Valley”. In 2010, he co-founded the Advanced Leadership Program for Asian American Executives (ALP), an executive education program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business along with Wes Hom, Ascend Board member and Vice President of External Affairs. The OCA Award recognizes Buck as a leader who has been exemplary in his ability to not only lead and inspire, but to serve as a role model for other executives and professionals in the Asian Pacific American community. He has also gone on to courageously give back to the community, empowering the next generation of APAs. Buck was also featured in the New York Times recently, as well as Denise Peck, co-author of the Hidden in Plain Sight report. We thank Buck for all that he has done for Ascend and for the Pan-Asian community throughout the years!
