Greater Washington Chapter Calling for Committee Members

The Greater Washington Chapter is recruiting members for the following committees.  We encourage members to join a committe based on their interest.  Please self nominate yourself by contacting the committee lead (click on the name to send that individual an email) for the committee that you want to join.  All committee members must have a valid Ascend membership.  The nomination period is open until January 31, 2011.

- Solicit sponsorship for food, venue, drinks, future events, speakers/moderator

- Compile budget for event

- Allocate appropriate funds for gifts, food & drinks

Program

- Set event date

- Set agenda for the event

- Set sub-committees (if necessary, e.g. food/venue, volunteer, etc.)

- Appoint openers/closers

- Finalize speakers/moderators

- Coordinate with speakers /moderator for logistics. Includes:

> A/V needs

> printout

- Schedule meetings to introduce and organize flow of panel with speakers/moderator

- Prepare sample questions for moderator and Q&A

- Finalize food and drinks(caterers), venue

- Identify and assign tasks for on-site volunteers

- Survey analysis

MarComm (Marketing & Communication)

- Email blast to members /nonmembers for all the events (including save the date, event announcement, reminder emails, thank you notes etc.)

- Set up event registration the website

- Maintain registration list

- Follow up with missing payments/incomplete registrations

- Print name badges

- Answer event inquires from chapter email address

- Take photos/Video for the events

- Write and post event summary article on Ascend website

- Write/compile bimonthly Chapter newsletters

Volunteers

- Registration booth set up (2 volunteers). Booth/table should include:

> Ascend tablecloth

> laptop for membership/event registration

> chapter info (brochure, pens, etc.)

- Make sure all speakers/moderator are accounted for and at the panel

- Make sure all refreshments/food are prepped

- Collect event survey from attendees

- Take picture/video (optional)

- Assist MarComm in uploading event pictures/video to Ascend website
