As a first time volunteer organization for Junior Achievement, Ascend Northern California contributed 21 volunteers, who led 18 classes and taught 491 students at 7 schools in San Mateo County.

The schools were Sandpiper Elementary, Benjamin Franklin Middle, Ponderosa Elementary, Belle Haven Elementary, Costano Elementary, John F Kennedy Elementary, and Parkside Elementary.

Melanie Oei, Chair of the Ascend Northern California Community Service, declared: "Ascend was in the top 5 of volunteer sources in the entire County of San Mateo"  She added:  "We taught 491 students practical skills in economics and trade.  Most of the students represented  minority ethnic heritages of Afro-Americans, Hispanics, and Filipinos."

Thanks to all the volunteers who contributed their time and expertise.  We are aiming for #1 next year!!
