Ascend took part in the National White House AAPI Leadership Roundtable on November 14, 2014. The event focused on how corporate, foundation and governmental resource groups can work effectively together to advance Pan-Asians through continuing education, leadership and business development programs, mentorships/sponsorships, arts and culture and more. Ascend was represented by Sandeep Gupta, Ascend’s Vice President of Chapter Affairs and Partner at Deloitte, Esther Jeong, Co-Executive VP for the Ascend New York Metro Chapter and Diversity & Inclusion Manager at Moody’s and Amy Shang, Ascend’s National Board member and Executive Vice President at HSBC North America.
This important national gathering included executives and representatives from over 40 corporations, foundations, and governmental and non-profit organizations. Ascend representatives, noted above, shared details on several of Ascend’s programs namely, Executive Insight SeriesTM (EIS), Executive Insight for Women (EIW) and Pinnacle - The Pan-Asian Corporate Board Member Initiative. The day ended with a framework on how the various constituents can all work together to share best practices, resources, joint initiatives and more to ensure that the AAPI community is well representative in all aspects and levels of corporate America, and governmental and non-profit organizations.
