Ascend UC Berkeley Chapter Seeks New Mentors

My name is Kevin Xu.  I graduated from UC Berkeley and was a student leader at Ascend.  I learned much during my time in Ascend; now that I am working, I want to continue to help the Berkeley Student Chapter prosper. I will be transitioning into Cher Lee's role as Ascend Berkeley Advisor and coordinate the Berkeley Mentorship Program for Spring 2013.  Larry Chang, co-president of the Ascend professional chapter, has asked me to contact you directly.

We are looking for new mentors who are interested to coach our student members in their career endeavors. Next Saturday, February 23, Ascend Berkeley will be hosting their Mentorship Kick-off, the first event where students and mentors will be meeting to set the tone and expectations for the semester. Having a mentor when I was recruiting was invaluable.  One of the advantages of the Berkeley Mentorship Program is that the mentors are paired with students in a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio. This allows both parties to develop a strong connection without dividing too much attention.

If you wish to volunteer, this will be a great event to get to know the student chapter and its members. From past experiences, personal support and coaching from professionals across a variety of industries made Ascend Berkeley uniquely successful and stand-out among the many business organizations on campus.

Please see below for logistics.
