Student programming at the convention will take place Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August, 20. Professional programming at the convention will take place Saturday, August 20 through Monday, August 21.

The confirmation email you receive upon completing registration will contain a link and reference number necessary to modify your registration.

The dress code for the convention is business attire. The President’s VIP Reception (invitation only) and the Awards Dinner call for business cocktail/festive ethnic attire.

Professional (Ascend members or non-members) registrations include all educational sessions (excludes private and invite-only sessions), all meal functions (excludes private and invite-only functions) and the Awards Dinner.

Daily Pass includes meal functions for that day, excluding the Awards Dinner.

Student Friday-Saturday pass (Ascend members or non-members) registrations include all educational sessions open to students, access to the career fair, resume coaching sessions and employer showcase sessions, and the opening reception on Saturday.

Career Fair only registrations include Saturday educational sessions, access to the career fair, employer showcase and resume coaching sessions; excludes all meal functions.

 

Students should plan to arrive with enough time to register and familiarize yourself with the convention hotel before sessions begin at 1 pm on Friday, August 18. Please allow time for your lunch before the session starts at 1pm.

Professionals interested in attending the Career Fair should plan to arrive on Friday, August 18 or on Saturday, August 19 with enough time to register and familiarize yourself with the convention hotel before the Career Fair begins at 8 am on Saturday, August 19.

Professionals not attending the Career Fair should allow enough time to register and familiarize yourself with the convention hotel before sessions begin at 1 pm on Saturday, August 19. Please allow time for your lunch before the session kicks off at 1pm.

Student programming concludes at 5:30 pm on Saturday, August 19.

Professional programming (Awards Dinner) concludes at 9:30 pm on Monday, August 21.

The convention is conveniently located in downtown Houston, accessibly by air and ground transport.

We designed our convention to foster networking, therefore you will find the meal services to be more casual with less structured seating so attendees can mix and mingle. Our Convention app also allows for attendees to connect with each other and network on-site. Registered attendees will receive information on how to download and access the app.

Yes, we offer CPE-eligible sessions at the convention. Please check the convention program book (on-site) and the convention app for appropriate labeling of sessions that are CPE-eligible.

Consistent with Ascend's policy there will be no refunds offered for cancellations.
