Ascend’s 6th Annual National Convention FAQs

Where will the convention events be held?
The Disneyland Hotel
1150 Magic Way
Anaheim, CA 92802

Registration/Badge Pickup: Disneyland Center Lounge, located on the Main Floor – please stop here first. When you arrive you will receive a scanable badge and Convention Program with the most up-to-date schedule of sessions and meeting rooms.

Where can I check my email during the convention?
There is a wireless hot spot in the Convention Media Lounge, located in the Disneyland North Lounge, on the Main Floor. If you have a smartphone, service is readily available in the hotel and most places throughout the convention meeting rooms.

When does online registration close?
Online registration will close on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 12:00 noon.

Is onsite registration available?
Onsite registration is available for an additional fee. We recommend registering beforehand to avail of the regular rates.

Where is onsite registration?
Registration is located in the Disneyland Center Lounge.

What is the dress code for the Convention?
The dress code for the convention is business formal. The President’s VIP Reception (invitation only) and the Gala Awards Dinner (full convention registration only, not student registration) calls for business cocktail attire.

Can I attend all the sessions? What is included in my registration?

- All access professional registrants (Ascend members or non-members) can attend all educational sessions, all luncheons and the gala awards dinner.
- Student registrants (Ascend members or non-members) can attend all educational sessions, all luncheons but NOT the gala awards dinner.

Gala tickets are available for an additional fee of $200 each.

Career fair attendees – Saturday educational sessions only, excludes reception.

Transportation

Nearby Airports
The Disneyland Hotel is conveniently located near many airports. It is just 15 miles from John Wayne Airport (SNA), 19 miles from Long Beach Airport (LGB), 34 miles from Ontario Airport, and 35 miles from Los Angeles Airport (LAX)

To/From Nearby Airports

There are many convenient shuttles and shared ride vans available for your convenience as a lower cost option for transportation to and from nearby airports. Southern California Grayline offers the Disneyland ® Resort Express which operates continuously throughout the day, 7 days a week servicing LAX and SNA. For more information and to make a reservation, please visit http://graylineanaheim.com/shuttles.shtml. For those coming from Long Beach Airport, shared ride vans such as Super Shuttle, and shuttles such as Beach City Shuttles may be the best options.

Parking
There is ample parking near Disneyland Hotel all within walking distance of the convention. Parking for overnight hotel guests of The Disneyland Hotel is available with a self-parking at $15 per night with in/out privileges. For those staying at other hotels, self-parking is $15 per car for a once in, once out privilege and do not include in/out privileges. *Please note that Disneyland Resorts has multiple hotels and facilities. Accommodations
The Disneyland Hotel is offering a discounted rate of $179/per night to Ascend Convention attendees. Room availability is limited and reservations must be made by July 15, 2013 to receive the Convention rate. To make your reservation, please visit:

There are two additional hotels on the Disneyland property – The Grand Californian and the Paradise Pier Hotel. Please call the Disney Reservations Dept. at (714) 956-6425 for more information about these 2 hotels.

Air Travel

There are some discounts for Ascend convention attendees from select carriers.

American Airlines- Valid for travel to LAX/SNA or ONT airports. Attendees will receive a 5% discount off the lowest applicable published airfare with the Promotional code 8183BS. Please call American Airlines at 1-800-433-1790 or book online at www.aa.com to make your reservations.

Delta Airlines- Valid for travel to LAX/SNA or ONT airports. Attendees will receive a 10% discount off of a full, unrestricted ticket with the Promotional/Meeting Event code NMG7W. Reservations and ticketing are available via www.delta.com. When booking online, select "Meeting Event Code” and enter the Meeting Event Code in the box provided on the "Search Flight” page. Reservations may also be made by calling Delta Meeting Network reservations at 800.328.1111 Monday through Friday, 7am-7pm CDT.

We designed our convention to foster networking, therefore you will find the luncheons and breakfasts to be more casual with less structured seating so attendees can mix and mingle.

Where can I get a bite to eat?
There are several snack shops and restaurants in The Disneyland Hotel, offering all types of cuisine and dining options.

Cancellation Policy

Consistent with Ascend’s policy there will be no refunds offered for cancellations.

PLEASE NOTE: There are no refunds offered for attendee cancellations or no-shows. Should circumstances cause the convention to be rescheduled, no refunds will be given however your registration fee will be honored at the date of the new convention. By registering for the Ascend National Convention, you agree to allow Ascend to use your image and/or likeness should they be captured, in promotional videos/photos. Should you wish to NOT BE PICTURED in promotional materials, please notify us in writing atePlanner@ascendleadership.org 

CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENT OF THE EVENT: If the event known is canceled or rescheduled due to any of the following reasons ( venue availability, legal regulations, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, Acts of God, war, etc.) the event will be reschedule within a reasonable time period as provided by the circumstances which caused the event to be postponed or canceled. Any and all pre-paid and pre-registered attendee fees will be honored by Ascend when the event is rescheduled. Ascend will provide as much advance and written notice as possible to inform attendees of any change to the posted date, time and location of the event. In addition, any and all pre-paid and pre-registered attendees will hold harmless Ascend, it's members, it's staff, it's temporary employees, co-sponsors of the event or any event-related events for any Force Majeure as defined above, which forced the event to be temporarily canceled or postponed. Ascend, its members, staff, temporary employees, co-sponsors, or any event-related personnel are not responsible or liable for any claim, action, damages, costs or other expenses including, but not limited to, loss or change of any associated fees thereof, hotel fees, or pre-registration fees suffered by any paid and pre-registered attendee due to any Force Majeure which forced the event to be temporarily cancelled or postponed.
