Ascend Seattle University, in partnership with the Ascend Professional Seattle Chapter, welcomes some of Seattle’s youngest and brightest entrepreneurs to share their experiences.
Join us on Thursday, March 24th in the Wyckoff Auditorium. Registration/networking will take place from 5:30-6:30pm in the 1st floor of the Engineering building. The panel will be from 6:30-8pm in the Wyckoff Auditorium. Light refreshments and appetizers will be served.
This event is FREE for SU Ascend members, UW Ascend members, and the Ascend Professional Seattle Chapter. It is $5 for student non-members. SU Ascend members get priority registration until May 9th so register today!

Kamala Saxton is a Seattleite originally from Hawai’i. Along with Roz Edison, they successfully were able to execute their dream of owning a food truck, Marination Mobile. Marination has been featured on Good Morning America as one of the nation’s best food trucks, serving foods like miso ginger chicken, Kalua pig sliders, and guava ribs. Marination is highly acclaimed within the Capital Hill area.
David Van Maren has been working in the entertainment industry for over 25 years. He started working in front of the camera and then became an agent in TV, Films, commercials and the fashion & beauty industries. He booked and/or represented celebrities, models, TV talent, hosts, music artists, athletes as well as others. In 2009, David co-founded and launched an online entertainment network and now concentrates his efforts as a producer for live shows, reality programming, red carpet events, etc. He’s also the state director for ID & WA for the Miss Universe Organization (which include Miss USA & Miss Teen USA) owned by Donald Trump & NBC Universal.
Jon Tam is the Co-Founder and CEO of Tenacity Sports. Tenacity Sports is an event management company with the mission of giving people a platform for socially-engaging experiences through sports. Tenacity Sports fosters and empowers local sports communities, allowing passionate athletes and sports enthusiasts to embrace their "love of the game". Since its recent inception, Tenacity Sports has hosted a number of recreational leagues and tournaments in the greater Seattle area, and now has its eyes set on larger-scale events, and pinpointing the intersection between sports and technology.
Prior to starting Tenacity Sports, Jon traveled the country as a Deloitte senior consultant before taking on a role as a director for Teleion Consulting. He is a graduate of the University of Washington's Foster School of Business and is, of course, a die-hard Seattle sports fan.
