The four speakers that will be featured include:
Kamala Saxton, Co-Founder of Marination
David Van Maren, the COO and Co-Founder of MRKd
Jon Tam, the CEO and Co-Founder of Tenacity Sports

To learn more about the speakers, read their biographies below. We hope to see you there!

Kamala Saxton is a Seattleite originally from Hawai’i. Along with Roz Edison, they successfully were able to execute their dream of owning a food truck, Marination Mobile. Marination has been featured on Good Morning America as one of the nation’s best food trucks, serving foods like miso ginger chicken, Kalua pig sliders, and guava ribs. Marination is highly acclaimed within the Capital Hill area.

David Van Maren has been working in the entertainment industry for over 25 years. He started working in front of the camera and then became an agent in TV, Films, commercials and the fashion & beauty industries. He booked and/or represented celebrities, models, TV talent, hosts, music artists, athletes as well as others. In 2009, David co-founded and launched an online entertainment network and now concentrates his efforts as a producer for live shows, reality programming, red carpet events, etc. He’s also the state director for ID & WA for the Miss Universe Organization (which include Miss USA & Miss Teen USA) owned by Donald Trump & NBC Universal.

Jon Tam is the Co-Founder and CEO of Tenacity Sports. Tenacity Sports is an event management company with the mission of giving people a platform for socially-engaging experiences through sports. Tenacity Sports fosters and empowers local sports communities, allowing passionate athletes and sports enthusiasts to embrace their "love of the game". Since its recent inception, Tenacity Sports has hosted a number of recreational leagues and tournaments in the greater Seattle area, and now has its eyes set on larger-scale events, and pinpointing the intersection between sports and technology.

Prior to starting Tenacity Sports, Jon traveled the country as a Deloitte senior consultant before taking on a role as a director for Teleion Consulting. He is a graduate of the University of Washington's Foster School of Business and is, of course, a die-hard Seattle sports fan.

Listen to each of these speakers share their inspirations and passions to start up a business, as well as the adversities of launching them. Hear how they worked to be successful. We hope this panel will inspire some of you young future entrepreneurs to follow your passions and open your own business as well.
