Information:

The Grant Thornton Case Competition 2012 is an event hosted by UW ASCEND in which teams of undergraduate business students apply their knowledge and skills to a real-life public accounting
problems.

Students will present their team analyses and recommendations to a panel of corporate judges. The students will be evaluated on application of accounting principles, ability to communicate ideas, teamwork, and creativity.

Highlights:
· Grand prize: $1,000 Visa gift card
· 36 hours to develop analysis

Team Information:
Teams consist of three students and one ASCEND member. The first eight teams that sign up by the deadline will be guaranteed a spot in the competition. If you would like to participate but do not have a team, email the contact below and you will be placed accordingly. To be successful in a case study such as this, students have found that choosing team members with diverse skills are beneficial.

Time Commitment:
1. Kick-off Event: Wednesday 5/2, 6pm – 7pm, Paccar 190
2. Case Analysis: Wednesday 5/2 at 6pm to Friday 5/4 at 9am.
3. Competition: Morning presentations only, Friday 5/4, 9am – 1pm.

Awards Ceremony:
Friday 5/4, 3pm – 5pm, Douglas Forum, 4th floor of the Executive Building.
