We are in the process of accepting applications for new Board members. Open positions are as follows:

The application process and timing will be as follows:
February – April 30, 2012: Complete the board application form

May 1 – May 15, 2012: Applicant phone screening. A short call will be scheduled with each Board applicant to discuss in more details the roles and responsibilities of our Ascend Board members and to gauge the applicant's experience, level of interest, availability, and commitment
May 16 – May 31, 2012: Applicants notified and introduced to existing board members
June 1 – September 2012: On-boarding of new board members, shadowing, and training
September Gala event: Public announcement of new boards members and recognition of outgoing board members.
Board position descriptions:
Treasurer / Secretary – Responsible for managing the organization's finances. Work directly with President and Vice President on overall budget and fiscal issues. Coordinate with various committees on individual committee budgets. Assist with Events committee on day-of-event planning and tasks.
Marketing Director – Work with Marketing Chair to achieve overall marketing objectives. Define and execute marketing and membership strategies. Coordinate with Events committee to market events through various channels in a timely manner.
Sponsorship Director – Work with Sponsorship Chair, Vice President, and President on sponsorship initiatives and strategies. Responsible for relationship building of current and potential corporate sponsors as well as ongoing account management for existing sponsors. Work closely with Diversity Career Expo working committee to identify and bring in company participants.
Events Director – Work with Events Chair in the development and execution of all of our Ascend events. Individual will work with the events committee to come up with event topics, ideas, formats, themes, and speakers. In addition, responsibilities include event planning such as identification of venue and coordination with vendors regarding logistics and/or refreshments.
