Ascend Seattle Chapter
Diversity and Career Expo 2011 and Appreciation Gala
Build Your Legacy
Ascend Seattle Chapter will host its annual Diversity Career Expo and Appreciation Gala on October 8, 2011. This year's theme is "Build Your Legacy" and will feature a leadership conference in addition to the diversity career expo and appreciation dinner gala. This half-day event will be held at the Meydenbauer Convention Center, Bellevue, WA.
Build Your Legacy was developed with the idea that one shapes their career, not just for the present, but also to create a foundation for future generations. We view this event as a vehicle to develop, refine and jumpstart careers.
Ascend is the premier professional organization dedicated to enabling its members, business partners and the community to leverage the leadership and global business potential of Pan-Asians. Founded in 2005, the organization focuses on inspiring people to achieve their aspirations to be a leader --- both professionally and personally without compromising their culture. Since then, Ascend has expanded to include 11 professional chapters and 16 student chapters nationwide with over 4,500 members from 150 companies.
Ascend Seattle Chapter formed in September 2009 with 41 members and now has grown to hundreds of members, plus even more non-members who participate in events throughout the year. The momentum of growth has continued to power the chapter in the Pacific Northwest with consistent programs and partnerships with other organizations.
Over 20 diversity employers are expected to exhibit and be hiring for positions ranging from entry to managerial. After the Expo, Ascend will host an appreciation dinner gala in honor of their membership and business leaders within the community. Both events are designed to be ideal opportunities to mingle and network with professionals from across Western Washington.
