myself more marketable in the workforce?
What are my long term career goals?
These are all important questions that students and professionals ask
themselves on a routine basis. For students, starting a new career is an
exciting but daunting step. The transition from "student life” to
"full-time work life” is one of the biggest transitions a person makes in his
or her entire life. For professionals of all levels, evaluating career
path and career goals is a very important routine, especially since the average
person changes careers multiple times over his or her lifetime.
Ascend is pleased to present the "Building a Successful Career"
workshop on February 5, 2011. Please join us at this workshop
to gain valuable insight on how to build and develop a successful and enjoyable
career. The workshop will feature a panel discussion + Q&A, fun group
activities, and a chance to network with fellow Ascend students and
professionals. We will also have a recruiter from Robert Half on site to offer
interview tips and career advice.
For our panel discussion, we have invited successful professionals from
accounting, finance, and business backgrounds to discuss their experiences
transitioning from college to the workplace and to the various stages in their
careers. Following the panel discussion and Q&A, we will break out
into fun games and activities to practice important leadership, communication,
and teamwork skills, which are all qualities essential to career building.
