Bellevue, WA -- ASCEND and Banana Republic are putting together a "personal branding” event on October 7, 2010 at Bellevue Square Mall. National Speaker and President of Jigsaw, Kevin Akeroyd, will talk about how to get the job you want, how to become an executive without an MBA degree, and how to make yourself marketable.
In addition, a fashion stylist from Banana Republic will explore what to wear at a job interview. What message do your clothes convey? What outfits are appropriate at the office?
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, more than 90,000 people are unemployed in King County (http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/planning/wtp/datalibrary/Economy/UnemploymentbyCounty.htm). "With fewer jobs and more people out of work, it’s important to make yourself stand out. This event will show you how to use the skills and resources that you have to make yourself marketable in today’s highly competitive job force,” said ASCEND Events Director Maureen Francisco.
Registration begins at 6 PM. It is free for all ASCEND members and $10.00 for non-ASCEND members. The presentation starts at 6:45 PM.
Those who attend the "personal branding” event qualify for a 25% discount that evening (sales items do not apply, other restrictions may apply).
Space is limited. Refreshments will also be served.
ASCEND is dedicated to help grow and develop future leaders without sacrificing their culture.
