Women of Ascend and Wharton | San Francisco invite you to join us for an evening with a special group of women executives and entrepreneurs who will share their perspectives and experiences about the unique challenges that Asian and multicultural women may have in a business environment during the changing economy in which we live. During this interactive forum, engage in dialogue, learn practical strategies and explore past successes to help drive your own success and impact in your life, organization or company.

She is the Northern Pacific leader and National Leader for regions for Deloitte’s risk advisory consulting organization, which includes accounting advisory, capital markets, security and privacy, governance, regulatory and risk services. During her 20-year career at Deloitte, she has provided consulting, advisory, and assurance services in a variety of business areas.Speakers:

Jeannette DeLaGarza is a senior vice president and managing director of Wells Fargo Wholesale University which manages and delivers training resources that are primarily focused on developing the credit management skills of financial analysts, relationship managers and other credit practitioners. With more than 20 years of experience in areas including Wells Fargo’s Wholesale Banking Credit Administration, Specialized Financial Services, Special Properties, and Commercial Real Estate, Jeannette assumed her current role in 2005. Jeannette served as managing director and head of Wells Fargo Commercial Mortgage Servicing from 1995 to 2005 and was responsible for a $50 billion investor-owned commercial real estate loan portfolio. Prior to this role Jeannette held relationship management positions in commercial real estate lending divisions in Wells Fargo and Bank of America.

Surita has over 17 years of audit experience with Ernst & Young and is a partner in the Palo Alto life sciences practice. Surita has worked with a broad array of clients, ranging from large publicly-traded international entities to early-stage start-up businesses. Surita has advised executive management teams on technical accounting and reporting issues, including business combinations, fair value, financial instruments, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition and SEC reporting requirements. Surita has worked closely with her clients as they have structured license and collaboration agreements with third parties. In addition to life sciences, Surita has also served a variety of other industries during her 17 years with E&Y including manufacturing, retail, technology and E-commerce.

As Vice President of Digital Marketing at Charles Schwab, Helen Loh is responsible for digital content and marketing strategy across Schwab’s proprietary websites. Under Helen’s leadership, Schwab has introduced innovations to personalize the web experience, deepen client relationships and bring to life Schwab’s brand value of advocacy.

Although born in NY, Leslie Schilling spent her first 17 years in Hong Kong. In 1972 she left to attend UC Berkeley in California where she earned a BA in Economics and Political Science. During her time at Berkeley, Leslie spent her junior year at the University of Kent, Canterbury. After graduation, she worked at Wells Fargo Bank for 2 years as an assistant portfolio manager in the Private Trust Division. After earning a Masters in International Management, Leslie started a Real Estate investment business in San Francisco.
